About Screenpaper
Screenpaper is a small, independent wallpaper studio. We publish free wallpapers for phones and computers, and the site is paid for by advertising, so nothing here costs money or needs an account.
Every wallpaper is original. None of it is photographed, collected from other sites, or produced by an AI image generator. Each design is a set of drawing instructions that we write as code: where the light sits, how a pattern repeats, how one color fades into the next. There are 800 designs on the site today.
Why they are sharp
Most free wallpapers are one image stretched to fit every device, which is where soft edges and banding come from. Because our designs are instructions rather than pictures, we run them again for each screen shape. The phone file is composed for a tall screen at 1440 × 3120 pixels; the desktop file is composed for a wide one at 3840 × 2160. Neither is a crop or an enlargement of the other.
The studios
The work is organized into 15 studios. A studio is not a person. It is a point of view written down as rules: which styles it makes, which colors it will use, and what it refuses to do. That is how we keep one drawing program from producing one look.
What we check before publishing
A design is published only if it passes a set of checks: the color it is named after really dominates the image, the area behind a lock-screen clock is calm, the phone and desktop versions agree, and it is not a near-copy of something already on the site. Styles that pass those checks but do not look right at full size are held back by hand.
Using the wallpapers
They are free for personal use on your own devices. The details are on the license page.
